Description
***THIS ORIGINAL PAINTING IS SOLD***
Happy many times I have been walking through woods and finding this delightful small tree growing in clumps. The structure is what captured my attention for this painting. Thorny, gnarled and knobby, the thrones decorate the trunks to the top of the plant. Though, it does bloom with large white clusters of flowers during late summer, the leaves, wood and thorns still hold my attention.

You have made a wonderful and beautiful botanical work out of these thorny plant Randy, gorgeous details! l/f
Rand Burns replied:
Kim, thank you for your comment on this sold wild woods plant. It has its beauty among the thorns and is so odd to run upon. I appreciate very much the F/L my friend.
Marian Bell
These erratic edges on the stalks remind me of my dad's shillelagh he used in our local Friendly Sons of St. Patrick parade. It had those thorny protrusions, too. Nicely done, Randy! L/F
Rand Burns replied:
Marian, I enjoyed hearing your memories related to this thorny plant. Thank you also for your comment this oil portrait of its character. I appreciate the F/L also.

This is totally cool, I don't think it grows up here, I love all the jagged edges, you paint nature so wonderfully, so full of character and vitality, the subtle changes in tone and color on that bark really grab my attention. F/L
Rand Burns replied:
Nancy, this piece sold to a lady who felt the same way about the jagged edges and structure of this large oil. It is a beauty to see in the wild. I hope you spot one someday. Thank you for the F/L.
Guido Strambio
Enchanting and detailed close-up of these incredible plants Randy! l/f
Rand Burns replied:
Guido, thank you for your comment on this oddity in the wild. It is a favorite, full of thorns, but a beauty to see. I appreciate the F/L.
