Painting - Acrylic On Canvas
Description
Pointing south, a weather vane topped with a galloping horse tilts slightly during a breezy evening. Silhouettes of gnarled and leaning trees accentuate the suggestion of time and place and their presence in it. After painting 'Riding the Wind' an old saying came to mind, which does not directly relate to the description, but I feel important to add-'You can move to the north. You can move to the south, but you can never move away from yourself.'

This is a magnificent work, the colors give me the AHHH feeling, the purple and red tones are truly amplifying the orange glow, oh how it all works together so wonderfully. We have had fleeting sunrises and sunsets like this up here in Vermont the last few years. They are very exciting and I have run with the camera to capture as they move fast. How fantastic to see you have captures this exhilarating moment in paint. F/L
Rand Burns replied:
Nancy, sunsets have always fascinated me, as well as sunrises. I love the challenge of painting them from memory and so glad you enjoyed this one. Thank you very much for the F/L.
