A dove sits perched in a loosely, handmade cage made of grape vines. Though the bird is caged, he peers through an opening which is wide enough for easy access to the outside world. They mystery of 'someone put that there' is highlighted by the intense light and the shadows created by it.

Love this white dove, Randy! For me it represents God's Peace which he bestows on us in His own perfect way! The opening in the cage is so that He can come to us when need be, and we can reach Him, too! Love this image! L/F......couldn't help but notice your L/F count was my deceased Mom's birthday 12-14 before I clicked on them...God's Peace Be With You!
Rand Burns replied:
God's peace be with you too Marian. Yes, there is an opening here for the dove and glad you pointed this out. Thank you for your special comment on this still life and mentioning your Mom's birthday. Thank you always for the F/L.

So LOVE how you are using the light and shadow to suggest a person is possibly close by, what a wonderful idea. Sweet little bird has such a warm gaze to the light. He seems to have a laid back personality and makes me want to pick him up. F/L
Rand Burns replied:
I love your idea of a possible person standing near. So glad you enjoyed this older oil work Nancy. It was a different world then. Thank you for the F/L.
