Early summer brings us many beautiful and interesting wild flowers. Focusing on the beauty of the ones most people tend to overlook, This portrait honors their jewel like beauty. Included in this piece are thistle, Indian blanket, bachelor's button, and wall flower. A lightly shadowed background of gray with a touch of cobalt violet pushes each flower toward us and gives each one its own world and presence. 24 x 36" Oil on canvas. SOLD

Thank you Michael, I love your words about the flowers looking like gems. Yes, these are wildflowers I pick myself. They all grow along old country roads. In the wild too I see them as jewels shining like lights.
