Painting - Oil On Canvas With Palette Knife
Description
Under a late evening sky, the sun begins its departure toward the horizon. Just after a rare spring rain the plants begin to flourish and bloom. The desert has always fascinated me and it was my first subject to paint growing up.

Wonderful, Randy...you portray the Light beyond the veil so well. I don’t believe that is achievable without great loss in one’s experience.
Rand Burns replied:
Laurel, great loss, yes, it does indeed lift a veil of sorts. Nothing is ever the same, but a different view exists toward the beyond. Thank you for your kind comment and always your support.

As a toddler, the desert was my first subject to paint. Although I had never been to one, the idea of the desert fascinated me and still does. Right now I am working on another one. Glad you enjoyed the lighting in this oil and found this work inviting. I appreciate it Nancy and the F/L. I love getting lost in these places with the brush.

The illumination of this splendid piece is off the charts. I love the blue and purple clouds juxtaposed with the yellow and orange and red sunlight. I can feel the heat turn cooler as I transport myself back to my Arizona days. And by the way, nice texture! Bravo, my friend.
Rand Burns replied:
Thank you Richard. Coming from such a painter as yourself, this means a lot. Glad hearing this work had such a sense of place and mood for you. Created using a palette knife over brush work. Keep painting.
