Description
Pointing upward, tips reaching to the heavens, these banded canes of horsetail plants were once used as scouring pads. There is both a delicacy and a strength in these beautiful roadside beauties.

So awesome!! Beautiful and delicate drawing. I love these and have a few in my home, they are the oldest and prehistoric plant still alive on earth, I was so excited to see them growing around lake areas that were glaciers up here in Vermont. I was also told they were used waaaaay back for sanding fine vhand made violin parts. F/L

What a great bit of information about this unusual and beautiful plant. They were also used as scrub pads for dishes by settlers I remember reading somewhere. I had a feeling you knew this plant well. Thank you for the F/L.
