Moonlight, Mist, Mystery And A Star
Artist
Rand Burns
Medium
Painting - Oil On
Description
A ribbon-like cloud forefronts the glow of a rising moon. Twinkling alone and surrounded by the mistiness of the scene a single star vies wit the glow of the moonlight below. A veil of mist and light invite us into this scene of otherworld feelings and solitude.
An added note: The collector who purchased this moonlight painting, some years later, died from terminal cancer. She had often told me "I could get lost in this painting". It meant so much that she loved this painting so and connected with it deeply. Catherine was a dear lady, loving, caring and deeply intuitive to things beyond. I miss her.

I love the subdued tones in this glorious landscape with the lone star. Beautiful oil painting using a few colors. I love to see that. Sometimes less is more.

This is so wonderful, it speaks to me personally as I have been spotting a very bright big star all clear evenings, come to find out it is mars and your star here remind me of that. The moon and mist reminds me so much of the type of glows we see here in the valley during winter, they can be quite strong like this one. Love the colors and the soft peaceful feeling I get looking at it. F/L
Rand Burns replied:
Nancy, this is a special piece in that the lady who bought it years ago died of cancer and cherished this little painting. So glad you enjoyed the mood and colors here and thanking you for your kind words and for the F/L.
